I don't have much to brag about in terms
of actually doing anything to work for liberty.
I am more of a hermit than an activist.
When I have gotten involed in libertarian activities
it has generaly been passively.
Here are some of the activities that I have
supported in one way or another.
- 1968-1970: Lived at the Atlantis Motel in Saugerties, New York, which
was the staging ground for phase 1 of Operation Atlantis--an ill-fated
plan to establish a Randian/libertarian community
on a small Carribean island.
- 1969: Attended Libertarian Forum dinners and conferences in NYC.
- 1970: Participated in founding Libertarian Analysis.
- 1971: Contributing Editor to The Abolitionist: A
Journal of Libertarian Opinion.
- 1972: Contributing Editor to Outlook, which was the successor
to The Abolitionist.
- 1972: Attended the 1st Libertarian Scholars Conference in NYC.
- 1974: Attended the 2nd Libertarian Scholars Conference in NYC.
- 1976: Attended the 4th Libertarian Scholars Conference at the
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC and the Libertarian Party National Convention
in Washington, D.C.
- 1981: Attended 7-day Advanced Seminar on Liberty at Bates College in Maine.
- 1982: Attended another Libertarian Scholars Conference in NYC.
- 1996: Was the NC Libertarian Party candidate for the State House
of Representatives for District 61.
- 1996 to 2000: Participated in Free Nation Foundation Forums.
- 1997 to the present: Copy editor for Formulations.
- 1998: Was the NC Libertarian Party candidate for the State House
of Representatives for District 61.
- 1998 to the present: I provide links to hundreds of
articles about free-market alternatives to the state on the Free
Nation Foundation's website (now on the
Libertarian Nation Foundation's website
http://libertariannation.org).
- 1999: Elected to the Board of Directors of the Free Nation Foundation.
- 2000: Elected Secretary of the Free Nation Foundation.
- 2000: Special advisor to and father of NC Libertarian Party.
candidate for State House from District 21, Jesse Halliday.
- 2000: Became a founder, secretary, and member of the
Board of Directors of the Libertarian Nation Foundation.
- 2002: NC Libertarian Party candidate for Wake County Commissioner District 7.
Also advisor to son Jesse Halliday who is the NC Libertarian Party candidate
for the State House of Representatives for District 33 and son Matthew
Halliday who is the NC Libertarian Party candidate for Wake County Clerk of the Superior
Court.
